What changes when you go PRO
Works out of the box — or use your own key
The problem: Google Translate is clunky and often misses context. Some users want full control with their own OpenAI/Gemini key; others just want it to work out of the box without signing up for AI providers.
Your solution: Two ways to translate. LLM translation, no API key — works out of the box, covered by your PRO subscription. 50 characters = 1 token from your monthly quota. Bring Your Own Key — plug in your OpenAI or Gemini API key. Keys stay in your browser, you control quality and cost. Pick whichever fits — switch any time.
Natural sound, zero load on your computer
The problem: Local voices can sound mechanical, especially for tonal languages — and generating them runs on your own computer, eating up CPU and memory.
Your solution: Premium cloud voices cover more languages with instant real-time playback. Because the audio is generated in the cloud, unlike local TTS it doesn't use your computer's resources — your machine stays fast and quiet, and your course sounds like it was recorded in your language.
Faster generation
The problem: Long lectures take too long to process.
Your solution: Use multiple CPU cores to generate dubbing up to 4x faster. Makes both Local TTS generation and real-time dubbing faster.
Generate while watching
The problem: You must wait for dubbing to finish before watching the next lecture.
Your solution: Generate dubbing for upcoming lectures in the background while watching the current one. Next lecture is ready before you finish the current one!
Offline learning
The problem: You want to save dubbed content or study offline.
Your solution: Download dubbed videos, audio tracks as MP3, subtitles as VTT. Upload your own dubbing files or use externally generated audio. Study offline anywhere — on commute, travel, or without internet.
Ask, summarize, review
The problem: After watching a video, you have questions but no one to ask. You forget key points and struggle to self-test.
Your solution: Chat with an AI assistant about any video you've watched. Ask questions, get summaries, highlight key takeaways, or generate self-check quizzes. Two ways to use it: built-in LLM with no API key required — covered by your PRO token quota (50 characters = 1 token), or bring your own OpenAI/Gemini key for full control. Switch any time.

Udemy has started rolling out a new player design, and right now there is some incompatibility with the current version of the extension. I'm actively working on fixing it and adapting the extension to the new design. As a temporary workaround, add the parameter ?udfrontends=false to the lecture URL. For example, the full lecture URL will then look like this: https://www.udemy.com/course/chatgpt-and-langchain-the-complete-developers-masterclass/learn/lecture/40261536/?udfrontends=false
Every PRO subscription comes with 11,000 tokens, refreshed automatically every billing cycle (monthly or yearly). Tokens are spent only by paid server-side features: AI translation without your own API key (50 characters of translated text = 1 token) and AI Video Chat (50 characters = 1 token). Everything else stays unlimited and doesn't touch the quota: local Piper TTS, browser TTS, classic cloud voices, Google Translate, and BYOK translation with your own OpenAI/Gemini key.
You can buy a top-up pack at any time — 10,000 or 50,000 tokens. Top-up tokens stack on top of your monthly subscription quota and never expire. If you'd rather not top up, just switch to BYOK translation (your own OpenAI/Gemini key) or Google Translate until your next billing cycle resets the quota.
Yes — this is the easiest way to use PRO. LLM translation works out of the box, no signup with OpenAI or Gemini, no key to paste, nothing to configure. Pick your target language, hit translate, and it just works. Billing is built into your PRO subscription: 50 characters of translated text = 1 token from your monthly quota. If you'd rather use your own API key (more control, you pay the AI provider directly), Bring Your Own Key is still there — both modes live side by side and you can switch any time.
Your license works on up to 5 devices. If you need more, simply regenerate your license key in your Lemon Squeezy dashboard to reset activations.
Yes, the price will increase as our user base grows and we implement new features, including those requested by the community.
BYOK means you use your own OpenAI, Google Gemini, or ElevenLabs API keys. Your API keys are stored in your browser only. Our server receives license validation and anonymous usage stats — never your keys, captions or videos.
Everything runs in your browser. No videos are uploaded anywhere. We collect anonymous usage stats (which features are used, whether dubbing succeeded) — never your videos, captions, or identity. You can switch it off in Advanced settings. No account required. Your API keys (if you use Bring Your Own Key) are stored locally only.
